Wow. Oprah Thinks God is Jealous?

I can never remember if it’s Opera or Oprah. Anyway she thinks God is jealous of her because she had a spiritual experience with a flower. Typical athiest nonsense.

There’s a Christian blog called Pulpit Pimps and I think that’s young people rap talk. I don’t approve of that but the man who rites the web site has a very good idea, and I quote:

I suggest we make May 1, May Day, “Pray for Oprah Day.” It could only benefit her. And hey, she just might turn that huge financial and executive power into a force of Godliness. I’ll be a guest on “The Pastor’s Corner” this out of Sacramento this Friday night. The feedback I got from them so far was very positive. We will likely talk it up and see what develops around the web and around the Christian community.

As you know, I normally don’t even try to suggest that this or that person be prayed for. Most of the people who appear on this site, in these posts, are active and aggressive leeches, sucking the life from foolish and ignorant Christians. Most of them know what they are doing is wrong. Oprah, on the other hand, really doesn’t have a clue. She is indeed like a kid, eager to believe a lie. Wouldn’t it be an amazing sight if the Big O came on her show and announced that she had been wrong all these years? Hey, it happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. Why not Queen Oprah?

So if you think it’s a good idea or a waste of God’s time, go check out this other fine Christian web blog and share your opinion.

I can’t figure out what God might be jealous over Oprah though?  She only has the things He gave her.

Thanks for the reference. But I should let you know that I’m 56 years old. While I have been called many things by some of the people who visit the site, “young” has not been one of them!

    “Angryxtian,”

It is clear that this post tells us that you are pathetically illiterate of the
    Bible.

The Christian god proclaims jealously many times in the scriptures:

“You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me…” – Exodus 20:5

“Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” – Exodus 34:14

“For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” – Deuteronomy 4:24

“You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me…” – Deuteronomy 5:9

“[For] the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.” – Deuteronomy 6:15

“Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the LORD. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.” – Joshua 24:19

“Then the LORD will be jealous for his land and take pity on his people.” – Joel 2:18

“The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.” – Nahum 1:2

“This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion…” – Zechariah 1:14

“This is what the LORD Almighty says: “I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her.” – Zechariah 8:2

In other passages, such as 2 Cor. 11:2, Paul compares his jealousy to that of the Lord’s.

I am honestly beginning to believe that this blog is illegitimate; run by someone in order to make a puppet Christian look incredibly foolish. I have a hard time thinking that anyone could be so publicly and proudly naive.

    Shalini? Is this you?

Ah guys, Jesus was the new way.

As such the old testement is more of a curio then a ‘way to live’.

Christians are supposed to be turning the other cheek, an excellent PR move that would be great if the followers all followed their creed.

    Terry Says:

Actually, God is not jealous of Oprah, but rather over His own glory. When we think of the concept of jealousy in others we see it as a vice rather than a virtue. This is because as human beings, self-centeredness is unfounded. If we think the world should revolve around us we think too highly of ourselves. However, God is the Creator of the earth and all that is in it. He actually is over all things therefore deserving of all the glory. Only God is justifiably self-centered. Additionally, this is actually good for us in the process. Because God is also all benevolent He enriches the lives of those who recognize His authority and operate within the design of reality.

Exactly Terry. I suspect Oprah just needed some excuse to get her behind out of the church. And this seemingly purposeful error did just fine. And it lets her justify her flight to others who have no clue.

God is jealous. He will not share His glory with any one or anything else. Ask Korah (in the Old Testament) and Ananias and a couple of others in the New Testament.

God is jealous in the grand sense, but not of individuals He gave prosperity to.

He was jealous of a gold cow. That’s worse than being jealous of individuals he “made.”

I don’t particularly care for Oprah. She thinks who the hell she is because of all her money. Also, God gave her nothing, she has what she has because of her own motivation and LUCK. Case Closed. Just like God does not put food on my table, clothing on my back, or pay my bills. That is all up to me. The day that he or she does, I will praise God and attend church every Sunday. Religion is nothing more than a fable/myth, and more people have died on the face of the earth as a direct result of religion. Religion/Bible/God was created by MAN, and is all about money and power, like everything else on earth. Notice how man was created 1st, then took part of that man to make the woman(LOL), and also notice how the WOMAN ate the apple, and because of that everyone on earth has to suffer and die because of what this WOMAN(NOT A MAN) did. (LOL)….Gee, this God guy is a really fair guy!!! One woman makes a mistake and because of that we all must suffer???? NOT. All I believe in is Good/Bad and Luck. What God would make children born with cancer(To endure all that pain/suffering), allow the weather to kill THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of HIS worshipers AND destroy a house of worship built FOR HIM/HER, choose one group of followers over another, allow evil people to carry on with their deeds, and the list goes on and on. Your life is what is it because of you, not god. Still amazes me how many people actually believe these stories. BTW> I was born a Catholic, and from day one I thought these STORIES were far fetched. I have no problem with anyone who chooses to believe these stories, but don’t push that nonsense on others. Basically, keep it to your self and the world will be a much happier place. Less wars/more peace.
