    I think it’s important to remember that, just as Christians have many different personalities and responses (tolerant, aggressive, passive, etc.), atheists have different personalities and responses as well. I also think it becomes easier to put people in boxes and say they’re all “this way” or “that way” when we label them. They become less full people and more stereotypical “angry Christians” or “angry Atheists.”

    Christians aren’t “up against” anything in this country, really. No Christian rights are infringed, any more than atheistic rights are infringed, at least in the U.S. The freedom of religion clause goes just as far to protect religions from the state as it does to separate religion from the state. Because it would be a terrible thing indeed to be told your religion is illegal, no? It is clear that while our government is secular, our society is mostly not. And that is as it should be, because not only is everyone free to believe and worship as they choose, we are also free to discuss those beliefs and ideas.
